Tumescent Liposuction

Tumescent liposuction, also called liposculpture, is a vast improvement over traditional liposuction. The physician "inflates" the patient's fat with a diluted local anesthetic before he/she vacuums it out in a process called suction aspiration. This eliminates risks associated with the general anesthesia used in traditional liposuction.

Another major advantage of the anesthesia used in the tumescent procedure is that it practically eliminates blood loss by constricting (tightening) blood vessels. In traditional liposuction, no such agents are used, with patients sometimes experiencing significant bleeding and even needing blood transfusions.

Using the tumescent method, all liposuction cases can be performed entirely with local anesthesia. The treated area can remain numb for up to 24 hours, greatly reducing post-operative discomfort.

SmartLipo™ Laser Liposculpture

SmartLipo™ is a new laser-assisted liposuction technique that simultaneously destroys fat cells and tightens skin. FDA-approved SmartLipo offers a faster, safer and less invasive alternative to other liposuction methods, with fewer side effects and a shorter recovery time.

SmartLipo achieves dramatic results by delivering Nd:YAG laser energy through a small incision to localized fat deposits on the face and body. The laser not only ruptures fat cells, which then drain away harmlessly, it also coagulates tissue on contact, stimulating collagen production for tighter skin and resulting in less bleeding. Fat removal can usually be done in a single 45- to 60-minute treatment with local anesthesia.

Minimal Incision Face Lifts

An alternative for some patients to the traditional facelift is the "S-Lift" or "weekend facelift." Named for the S-shaped incision hidden in front of the ear, the S-Lift provides an overall lift to the lower third of a patient's face and cheeks. Compared to a facelift it is a quicker operation with a shorter recovery, allowing patients to get back to normal life sooner.

The S-Lift may be combined with liposculpting, where excess fat is removed from the cheeks, chin and neck, and the skin and underlying tissues are tightened. Then the incision is closed using fine sutures to minimize scars.

Cosmetic Eyelid Surgery

Blepharoplasty can rejuvenate puffy, sagging or tired-looking eyes by removing excess fat, skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. It may be performed for cosmetic reasons or to improve sight by lifting droopy eyelids out of the patient's field of vision. The procedure is usually performed in an office with local anesthesia in as little as 45 minutes. Blepharoplasty can be combined with a facelift or BOTOX® treatments to raise the eyebrows or reduce the appearance of wrinkles, crow's feet or dark circles under the eyes.
